14k Gold Price Per Gram

About this site

A single, honest number for what your gold is worth, and a straight answer about how much of that a buyer will actually hand you.

Why it exists

Most people looking up a gold price are about to sell something, often something they inherited. They find a price per gram, multiply it by the weight on their kitchen scale, walk into a shop, and get offered around two thirds of what they expected. Then they assume they are being cheated.

Usually they are not. The gap between melt value and a real offer is normal and explainable, and almost no site explains it, because showing a smaller number is worse for business. This site shows both figures side by side.

Where the numbers come from

Spot prices for gold, silver and platinum are pulled hourly from a public market feed and cached at the edge. Currency conversion uses a daily reference rate. Every figure on the site carries the timestamp of the data behind it, so you can see how fresh it is.

Purity figures follow trade convention rather than arithmetic: 14k is treated as 58.3%, 22k as 91.67% and 24k as 99.9%. The payout percentages come from published rates at refiners and high street buyers. They are ranges because the real world is a range.

What this site is not

We do not buy or sell gold, we do not broker it, and we do not take a commission from anyone who does. Nothing here is an offer or financial advice. Prices are indicative melt values for comparison, and the only way to know what your specific piece is worth is to have it weighed and tested.
